పతన కారణాలు

विहितस्याननुष्ठाना न्निन्दितस्य च सेवनात् |
अनिग्रहच्चेन्दियाणां नरः पतनमृच्छते ||

విహితస్యాననుష్ఠానా న్నిందితస్య చ సేవనాత్
అనిగ్రహచ్చేంద్రియాణాం నరః పతన మృచ్ఛతే

vihitasya ananusthanaha ninditasya ca sevanaat
anigraha ca indriyaaNaam narah patanam Rchchhte

A man selects of fall down by
a. Not performing the prescribed duties,
b. performing the actions that are condemned
c. by not controlling the sense organs

Note: The basis of "prescribed duties" and "condemned actions" is the saastram; guidance of controlling senses is to be derived from the lives of elders who are well studied in the saastras and lived as per the norms of them.
