ద్వివిధ వ్యాధులు

व्याधिर्द्विधाऽसौ कथितो हि विद्भिः कर्मोद्भवो धातुकृतस्तथेति ।
आद्यक्षयः कर्मण एव लीनाच्चिकित्सया स्याच्चरमोदितस्य ॥

వ్యాధిః ద్వేధా అసౌ కథితో హి విద్భిః కర్మోద్భవః ధాతుకృతాః తథా ఇతి
ఆద్యక్షయః కర్మణ ఏవ లీనాః చికిత్సయా స్యాత్ చరమోదితస్య

These words are spoken by BhagavAn Adi Sankara bhagavatpAda to the disciples.

Due to a magical spell of abhinava gupta, who could not digest the defeat of his own matam by bhagavadpAda, Bhagavan Sankara was inflicted by a disease called bhagandhara vyAdhi. When disciples want to treat the disease jagadguru says:

Wise say the disease is of two types. karmakRtam - originated due to actions and dhAtukRtam - originated due to dhAtus i.e, the fundamental building blocks of body. In these two types, the first one is only cured by depletion of karmas and the second one only can be cured by treatment through medicines etc.,

ArOgyam is a combination of righteousness and treatment.
