దుర్గా తత్త్వం

మంత్రాణాం మాతృకా దేవీ శబ్దానాం జ్ఞానరూపిణీ
జ్ఞానానాం చిన్మయానందా శూన్యానాం శూన్యసాక్షిణీ
యస్యాః పరతరం నాస్తి సైషా దుర్గా ప్రకీర్తితా

తాం దుర్గాం దుర్గమాం దేవీం దురాచార విఘాతినీం
నమామి భవభీతోఽహం సంసారార్ణవతారిణీం 

-- దేవీ అథర్వ శీర్షం  దుర్గాష్టమి సందర్భంగా  

mantrANAm mAtRkA dEvI SabdAnAM jnAnarUpiNI
jnAnAnAM cinmayAnandA SUnyAnAM SUnyasAkshiNI
yasyAH parataraM nAsti saishA durgA prakIrtitA 

tAM durgAM durgamamAM dEvIM durAcAra vighAtinIm
namAmi bhavabhItOham samsArArNavatAriNIm 

In the mantras she is the tArakatvam i.e., mAtRka; In the sabdAs (sounds) she is the meaningful knowledge. In the knowledge she is the bliss! In the emptiness she is  the witness. 

for whom, there is nothing beyond; SHE is praised as "DurgA" 

Durga, difficult to attain, who is destroyer of durAcAra (bad ways of living)

I bow down being afraid of birth (again!) to thee; Thou alone can rescue me from the ocean of unending births and deaths!
