పఞ్చరత్నస్తుతిః

యద్భ్రూభఙ్గైకవశ్యా విధిహరిగిరిశఖ్యాతిదాః శక్తికోట్యో
యద్భృత్యా దేవదేవాః సకలభువనగాః సంనియచ్ఛన్తి విశ్వమ్ ।
యల్లిఙ్గం సర్వదేవాసురమనుజముఖైరర్చ్యతే విశ్వరూపం
తస్మై నిత్యం నమస్యాం ప్రవితనుత పరబ్రహ్మణే శఙ్కరాయ ॥ ౪॥

 यद्भ्रूभङ्गैकवश्या विधिहरिगिरिशख्यातिदाः शक्तिकोट्यो
यद्भृत्या देवदेवाः सकलभुवनगाः संनियच्छन्ति विश्वम् ।
यल्लिङ्गं सर्वदेवासुरमनुजमुखैरर्च्यते विश्वरूपं
तस्मै नित्यं नमस्यां प्रवितनुत परब्रह्मणे शङ्कराय ॥ ४॥

yat bhrU bhanga eka vaSyA vidhi hari giriSa khyAtidAH SaktikOTyO
yat bhRtyA dEvadEvAH sakala bhubanagAH samniyacchanti viSvam
yat lingam sarva dEva asura manuja mukhaIH arcyatE viSvarUpam
tasmai nityam namaSyAm pravatanuta parabrahmaNE SankarAya

whose single wink of eyebrow commands the creator, maintainer and destroyer known to be enormously powerful;
whose attenders are gods of gods controlling activities of multiple universal globes
whose image is being praised by all godly, celestial & human beings in their respective voices as the universal form;
for THAT supreme brahman Sankara I always bow down stretching forward.

స్కందచరిత్ర - సుబ్రహ్మణ్య భుజంగం

తపో వేదాశ్చ విప్రాశ్చ
జ్ఞానం చ బ్రహ్మ సజ్ఞితమ్ |
తేభ్యో హితత్వాత్ బ్రహ్మణ్యః

tapas - austerity, vedas - divine scripture, vipras - knowledgeable persons, jnanam - supreme knowledge --- All these are indicated by the word "brahma"

benefactor of those is "brahmaNya" -- Hence the subrahmaNya is the supreme lord alone.

మునీనాముతాహో నృణాం భక్తిభాజామభీష్టప్రదాః సంతి సర్వత్ర దేవాః |
నృణామంత్యజానామపి స్వార్థదానే  గుహాద్దేవమన్యం న జానే న జానే ||

There are dieties or gods who bestow desires of their devotees and sages. But I do not know of a lord who blesses those who are born in the lowest classes (like tribals) other than the lord guha i.e., surahmanya.

నిండారు నోరిమి నిబ్బరికంబు
మాటనిల్కడ తన్వి మంచినడువడి
గుండెబిగువు కల్పుగోలుతనమ్ము
తాల్మి దొఱగఁ బోని దక్కోలు బ్రతుకు
అవిటులఁ బిల్లల నరగడంబులను
నొప్పించకెప్పుడున్ బ్రోచెడి నేర్పు
జంజాటమెడిలి పీచమెడసి మిగుల
నడఁకువతోడుత నందరి పట్ల
నడచుచుఁ ద్రాగక నంజుడు దినక
చదువుగోటునఁ దెగ సాఁగక పనికి
మాలిన కోర్కులం బడయక లేని
పోని తలంపులఁ బొరయక తనకుఁ
గలదాని తోడుతన్గడుఁ దన్విఁ బొంది
పాటించి మైవంచి పాటున కోర్చి
కూడు గుడ్డలు కూర్చుకొని తోటి పాటి
వరలతోఁ గూడి వంతు పంచు కొని
క్రుంగు పొంగులు మానుకొని రేపుమాపు
లిమ్ములఁ గుడ్చువాఁడే తల్లివిన్కి
గిడియతోఁ జాటఁదగిన మొనకాఁడు

"full of patience, compassion, truthfulness, righteous behaviour, friendliness, endurance, helpful towards weak, detachment from world, gentleness, away from habits of drinking and eating meat, away from useless desires, not entertaining useless thoughts, (i.e, internal and external sense control), contended with what is there, steadfast in performing duties, hard working, sharing what is there with others around, who is neither depressed nor raised, balanced one --- is eligible for study and promotion of the knowledge heard about the mother, the supreme reality!"

సాంబ ఏకః సహాయః

సంతః పుత్రాః సుహృదయుతవా సత్కళత్రం సుగేహం
విత్తాధీశప్రతిమ వసుమాన్ కోభవీతు ప్రకామం
ఆశాస్వాస్థా అమృతకిరణాస్పర్ధికీర్తిచ్చటావా
సర్వం వ్యర్థం మరణ సమయే సాంబ ఏకః సహాయః

Great sons, wonderful friends, good wife, beautiful house
wealth equivalent of kubera, all desires fulfilled,
healthy and fit, glory spreading like bright rays of moon
all these are useless at the time of death. Only the supreme lord (samba) comes to rescue.

శుచిః - Holy and purifying

శుచిః భూమిగతం తొయం శుచిః నారీ పతివ్రతా |
శుచిః క్షేమకరో రాజా సంతోషీ బ్రాహ్మణః శుచిః ||

शुचि र्भूमिगतं तोयं शुचि र्नारी पतिव्रता ।
शुचिः क्षेमकरो राजा सन्तोषी ब्राह्मणः शुचिः ॥

Holy and purifying is the water underground. Woman, devoted to her husband is holy.
King, who protects is a purifier; and a contended & happy brahmaNa is holy.

ఈశ్వరేచ్చ

भ्रमन्वनान्ते नवमञ्जरीषु
न षट्पदो गन्धफलीमजिघ्रत् ।
सा किं न रम्या स च किं न रन्ता
बलीयसी केवलमीश्वरेच्छा ॥

వనంలో కొత్త లతల మధ్యలో సంచరిస్తున్న తుమ్మెద పక్కనే ఉన్న సంపెంగ ను ఆఘ్రాణించలేదు. ఆ పుష్పం రమ్యమైనది కాదా? లేక తుమ్మెదకు పుష్పం లో రమించడం తెలియదా? (రెండూ కాదు) కేవలం ఈశ్వరేచ్చ బలీయమైనది. 

bhraman vanAntE nava-manjarIshu
na shaTpadH gandha-phalIm ajighrat
sA kim na ramyA sa ca kim na rantA
balIyasI kEvalm IsvarEcchA

A bee roaming in the garden with lot of new flower creepers,
it did not smell the best smelling sampangi flower;
Is that flower is not enjoyable? Nor the bee do not know to enjoy?
(NO) most powerful is the wish of Iswara!

స్వభావము - ప్రకృతి

काकः पद्मवने रतिं न कुरुते हंसो न कूपोदके ।
मूर्खः पण्डितसङ्गमे न रमते दासो न सिंहासने ।
दुष्टः सज्जनसङ्गमं न सहते नीचं जनं सेवते ।
या यस्य प्रकृतिः स्वभावजनिता केनापि न त्यज्यते ॥

व्याघ्रः सेवति काननं च गहनं सिंहो गुहां सेवते
हंसः सेवति पद्मिनीं कुसुमितां गृधः श्मशानस्थलीम् ।
साधुः सेवति साधुमेव सततं नीचोऽपि नीचं जनम्
या यस्य प्रकृतिः स्वभावजनिता केनापि न त्यज्यते ॥

1. A crow do not enjoy in the garden of lotus ponds; A swan can't enjoy in a small pit of water. A fool will not enjoy the company of wise; a servant can't hold the throne of a leader. Wicked one can't bear pious people and works for wicked only. Each one follows the character as per their own nature and hardly give up on "prakRti"

2. A tiger enjoys in the deep forest, a lion enjoys the cave, a swan enjoys on the lotus flowers, a hawk enjoys in the burial ground. People with soft nature enjoy in the company of soft people and wicked enjoy among wicked. Each one follows the character as per their own nature and hardly can give up on "prakRti"

yA yasya prakRtiH svabhAva janitA kEnApi na tyajatE - Above two verses show the difficulty of giving up one's own nature. Everyone thus should focus on building right character considering the fact!
